Lunch & Learn - Native American Archaeology in the Ohio Valley

March 12, 2018 12:00 pm

Dr. Robert Cook, associate professor of anthropology at Ohio State University, will present “Climate, Corn, and Culture Change: Mississippian Movement Into and Out of the Middle Ohio Valley.” He will discuss how and why Native American villages formed in relation to migration, climate, and subsistence shifts, the big picture of cultural relatedness over broad regions, and the amount of social detail that can be gleaned from anthropological projects that combine archaeological, biological, cultural, and historical data sets.  Attendees are invited to bring a bag lunch, drinks and dessert will be provided.  Admission is free.
